UMMEED started in 2004 with a small group of kind people—social workers, professionals, and caring citizens—who wanted to help the homeless and migrant people in Uttar Pradesh. It began as a small shelter in the City of Nawabs, Lucknow, but slowly grew into a big organization making a real difference. UMMEED NGO is a Guinness World Records and Limca Book of Records holder organization, primarily focused on supporting homeless and migrant populations, particularly in Lucknow, India.
Today, UMMEED is known as the top NGO in Lucknow, not just for giving shelter but for providing many helpful services. We support migrants, poor and homeless people, those with mental health issues, and people involved in begging. Our goal is to give them care, respect, and a better life.
